TIME: 4:00 Gates Open 6:00 Running Event 5:00-8:00pm DJ A CASH! Then 8:00-10:00pm - FREE concert.
A decade of 80's Music, Food, Clothing as well as the feel of the running race. Costume contests, Best Look-alike, and runners will receive an 80's Shirt, Plastic Mug and finisher medal....80's snacks and drinks also on site.
What is the best decade? It is without a doubt the 80’s. Those who grew up in the 80’s want to go back and those who didn’t want to go and experience it. It was a time with crazy hairstyles, clothes, music and technology.
It was a time when technology was just reaching out to a whole new world. Computers, Atari and Walkman’s were ruling the world. The 80’s took us from records and 8-tracks to the amazing and compact cassette tape. It was so amazing that we could fit all our music on this little cassette tape. We could hold this amazing electronic device called a Walkman and play our cassette tape. You could rewind, fast forward and pause our music on demand….WOW! Who remembers taking a #2 pencil to fix their cassette tape, we all did it.
Come out for THE 80s RUN, and experience the best decade again with a fun run, bad hair and clothes and finish with some dancing with a 80s DJ and a headlining 80s Band til sunset!
DRESS the Part of the 1980's!
Ahhhh, The 80's...from tight cotton shorts, leg warmers, headbands and torn up shirts, What will you wear? We will have best look-alikes, best original individual, best Group Costumes and plenty of cool 80's gifts to win.
Come early and stay late to dance the day away. Limited to 800 Runners.
Live Concert- Denver 80's Band
One of the best 80's bands from here to California... they have played at our Oktoberfest and play in Denver's best venues all year round. The runners will be treated to a live DJ from 1:00pm playing the Music Set created by the runners...followed by That 80's Band, live on stage from 3:30-5:30pm.
Concert FREE to runners, or Tickets $10.00 for the public.
Food of the 80's
We will have merchants onsite for snacks as well as food known from the 1980's we all remember as small kids or teenagers.
From Pop-Tarts, Lik-a-stix, Pizza Bites, Kool-Aid, TAB Soda, and Capri Sun. It's endless.
We will have it all on-site ready to eat and drink. Kool-Aid will be on the course as the refreshment drink and all finishers receive an Otter-POP at the finish line with their medal.
Runners Will Create the Sound Track!!
During RACE REGISTRATION, runners will be asked to provide their Favorite 80's Song to run to. Our expo and on-course race music will be 100% made by the Runner Suggestions and the Sound Track list will be played by our onsite DJ in the expo. From Abba to Frankie Goes to Hollywood, we will have you covered.
